Recently alot of threads have popped up calling chanters the PvE kings of Hib again with all these animist changes.
Here are the questions, with what spec do you pve the best with? Do you use a bot? If not, how do you manage your power during a pull? How many mobs do you usually pull at once?
For me it really depends on the mobs I am going after to which enchanter I use. If it is toa/epic I will bring my mana chanter as I will usually have a buffer in the group. I don't own a bot account so solo pulling in mass is not a strong option.
If I break out the EM chanter I could usually hold 5-7 yellow-ojs, 4-5 ojs-reds. The top tier heal proc saves my life most of the time. With this spec it takes much longer though since my mana shield is so low. _________________ PvE Enchanter Extraordinaire

I'm the typical 49/22 RvR spec. But as most of percival knows I'm an awesome PvEr as well.
Typical setup me, ml10 buff bot.
Yellow/OJ mobs I hold about 10-20 mobs depending on which ones they are.
Red to Purple i try to keep it in the 5-10 range
I use my focus to generate enough aggro to keep them off my druid as he heals, I try to use 1 big heal every now and then instead of lots of little heals. I also keep my buff bot away from where I focus so I get the range bonus of less aggro.
With this setup I've done just about everything you can imagine. I've even done Malice. Which takes about 45 minutes to run all those coins. _________________ Elladar Spellweaver (Perc) - Mentalist

I run a chanter for PvE only (RR3 for Juggy3 til I get ML9), and I recently switched to 49M same as Elledar...
I hate it.
Sure for PvP it's pretty great, but anyone who tells you that it does PvE is well... They lie. The level 40 FS eats less power, sure, but it also does ~100 a hit, where I can expect 150-250 a hit on the level 50 FS. I am switching back as soon as there is a Mythic Respec to use.
Power management: I have Serenity 2 and a Mana Mentalist bot, coupled with (atm) an Average Power Mythirian I actually GAIN power while running the Focus Shield! _________________ Bard TL |

Goss I don't know what you're doing, but there isn't anything in ToA that is doable as a chanter that I haven't been able to do with the level 40 focus spell.
You do know you can stack castable damage shield and focus damage shield right? _________________ Elladar Spellweaver (Perc) - Mentalist

| I lost 10 Platin to an 40/35 Ench, because I could not belive that he is able to solo Draco with his BB. |

Ella, you are ML9... My chanter is ML0 with Juggy3 for emergencies and getting high aggro. _________________ Bard TL |

That's nuts never tried that one. 1 question though. Um how did he get to Draco? Did some animists or raid kill every other ml10 boss and let him kill Draco? _________________ Elladar Spellweaver (Perc) - Mentalist

On every Tuesday evening we kill Draco 3 or 4 times with one group and some guests who need the ML10 Step. One Tuesday there was a guest with his new toon and we all laughed about his freaky ideas until he suddenly reappeared on our last ML10 run for this evening. He said something like: "I will bet 1P against 10P that I will kill Draco"
If I remember correctly 7 people including me agreed on the bet. We killed the other mops and then Draco spawned. He wiped and then in our foolish generosity we gave him a second chance and he killed Draco
He went away with a bright smile on his face and 70 Platin in his pocket not to mention the Draco drops |

PvE wise, Enchanter have always been better than an animist in everything except holding the front gate during dragon raids. That's with my 48m/24L spec.
Enchanters can setup faster, control aggro better, and don't need someone to pull mobs into their field of fire.
Unbotted but with CL buffs, I can chain the entire weeware camps in the pits of Coruscating Mines, farm arulite. Weewares drop tinderboxes to help with power management and less downtime.
Botted I clear the entire area of Formoran, the bog, and like Ellader said, there isn't a ToA encounter a pre nerf Animist could farm that my ML9 chanter pet couldn't.
With the changes to our pets, I do even better PvE with a compatriot than I did before. _________________ Munnie Comyna
